Before I came to business school, I was warned that sometimes the most valuable learning occurs outside of the classroom. With Chicago's star studded faculty that always seemed implausible, but no longer. On Saturday the South Asia Business Group held their annual India Leadership Summit, and though it wasn't fun to show up at Harper before 8 am on a Saturday, it was an invaluable experience.
To think that there will only be one issue of ChiBus after this one before we all head to our futures. OK maybe not exactly the future but summer. In our defense the sunshine outside does make you think of the future and brightness. Even if the future is uncertain like it is for some of us (no internship or full time offer) sunshine has this way of making us feel it will work out and that, even if it doesn't work out, there is the prospect of lazy days basking in the sun not spending/not earning any money to look forward to.
Overheard in Class: Professor: "If we take the money back, we would have to screw Grandma. That's a technical term." Prof in class talking about social security issues - Prof: "Why is social security such a big problem? The way it was setup, we gave all this money to grandma in expectation that she will live for half an year more after retirement.
