Two satisfying words of modern day life “CONNECTED, SECURED” sent a relief across a group of most Boothies as they checked for their wi-fi connection. What was incredible was that the group was barely a mile away from ruins of a 2000-year old Roman amphitheater, and still the connection showed “UChicago-Secure”.
In bustling London, a group of Boothies from the evening & weekend program were in the land of Lords and Earls to network, spend time with London based alumni, attend some intriguing sessions besides just having fun- the Booth way.
The Booth London trip had a spattering of engaging sessions which started with an interaction with the teams from British American Business (BAB) and Confederation of British Industry (CBI). This was subsequently followed by a short walk to the Bank of England, where the interaction with policy-making officers ended the first day of an exciting week.
The events in London were facilitated by our warm hosts at the Booth London campus. Penka, Leslie and Jane to mention a few, coordinated with the untiring Holly Shearer, to create a schedule that was both engaging in content as well as displayed the strength of the Booth community across the pond.
As Boothies made their way on the “tube”, getting on the “p-icah-dilly” line to “cock-fosters”, to enjoy the high tea in a fabulously British way, the fun was just getting started...
